I didn't come here for the daily hiking in the gorgeous Snow Canyon State Park as many other guests did. I saw it advertised on the "Biggest Loser" and hopped a plane to Utah. Other spas were either budget-busters with loose structure, or cheap but too rugged location and accommodations. The price was a very good value. I came here for the camraderie of other obese people and a structured program. While they call it a "compassionate boot camp", it is much more. The interior decoration of the new 40 room facility was done by the owner-operators. From the hotel rooms with every amenity (except a hot water maker for tea -- caffeine products are not allowed), to the fine linens and luxurious bathrobes to wear to the pool and massages, to the exquisite and unique furnishings, artwork, hand-assembled flower arrangements and desert flower landscaping, there is so much loving detail to enjoy. Then there are the staff. Every trainer is friendly and attentive and a good principles of fitness teacher. They say Utah is the friendliest state and I believe it. Both in and outside the resort, I have not met a single grumpy Utahan! I came here with multiple injuries and health issues and have been able to modify the more difficult moves to accommodate them. The pool is chillier than expected (82 degrees) but the jacuzzi, steam room and sauna warm you up after pool aerobics. They have a fully stocked store with everything from blister prevention socks and lotions to sundries, clothing, and souvenirs carved from the mountains you see from your room, all fairly priced. Plan to bring or rent a car if you need to get into town for a movie or errand. (They only offer van service to Target once a week for $10.00). Their acupuncturist and masseuses all have many years of experience at the highest level. I have a different one daily and still don't have a favorite masseuse because they are all awesomely therapeutic. Facial and spa service providers are also first class. The food program includes no red meat or dairy. For hard-core diabetics like myself there were too many grains and too high carbs:protein served, but I was accommodated as were others with allergies and replacements for foods not liked. Do yourself a favor: come for a few weeks and jump start the fittest years of your life.

great bargain spa: Spent a week here after spending 2 months at another St. George spa. This is a great bargain, though the facilities (now in a motel) are comparatively Spartan. Did not bother us, however, because we were there for the activities rather than the facilities. Small staff makes great effort, and camraderie is much stronger than at other spas because of the small size. I have been to about 7 different spas here and abroad and would rate this the best bargain of the bunch, by far.
