Visited Compass last night with another couple for dinner - what a stunning disappointment. For the price you are paying (this place is not cheap), I would have expected a much better taste. The fish was very dry and hard on the edges...almost like it came out of a microwave. I would highly recommend you NOT visit this place for a meal. The views are nice at night, but just have a couple drinks and save your money for somewhere else.
Best Sunday brunch with a view: This restraunt sits atop the Hyatt hotel in downtown Phoenix. It is a revolving restraunt to give you 360 degree views of the city in about an hour. I have only eaten here for the sunday champagne brunch. The brunch, thou a bit priicey, but youre paying for the view,is the best in town. Lots of choices to choose from, both hot and cold. Includes a entree now with brunch. The deserts are to die for, esp the chocolate strawberries. Great place for special occasions.
Best Tiramisu, and tremendous views too!: We have dined here after downtown Phoenix events, and everytime we do, we say "Wow!" The views at sunset are dramatic, and the atmosphere is sophisticated and romantic. The restaurant slowly revolves for 360 degree vistas in a 1 hr time period. If you want to bring out of town guests to a special Phoenix place to impress them, this is the place. Yes, it's pricey, but for a special occasion, the dining experience is well worth it. After an evening concert, we just walk across the street from Symphony Hall and have coffee and dessert here. We have seen shooting stars from this place! The experience is unforgettable. We highly recommend it.
