Berry Bros. is the only place to go for cooking wood in Phoenix. I've tried other places but none offer the quality of product, friendly service, and downright value for the money.
If I ever start a fire in my fireplace I'll be sure to visit Berry Bros. first!!

First, I'd like to thank Rick for his consice explanation of his problem. WTF? I've only dealt w/BBFW once, stopped in to chat twice. If I go three times a week, I could get college credits, because Thomas is so informative. Prices and volumes seem pretty reasonable for THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT!! Of course wood is cheaper in Canada. Try buying sand there. It'll be cheaper here. Use Berry Brothers. They are straight up and care about their customers.
THANKS THOMAS
I went to Berry Bros today and, as usual, has a great time talking with Thomas. Every time I go there I learn something new about wood that I know is going to help me become a better cook and today was no exception. I also got a short lesson on how to identify wood which will come in very handy since the fellow who does yard work for me decided to do me a favor and arrange all of my smoke wood into one pile. Unfortunately, he mixed it all up so today's lesson from Thomas will help me to sort out the pile and hopefully I'll be able to recover the dozen or so sticks of cherry that are in there.
There are a lot of places where I can buy smoke wood but the primary reason I shop exclusively at Berry Bros is because of the way I'm treated by Thomas and his staff. I have never had a bad experience there and I always get my money's worth and then some. This is the best time of year to stop in as the firewood side of business is still in the off season and Thomas has more time to talk but even when they're at their busiest you'll always be greeted with a smile and a handshake and you'll get excellent service.
