My wife and I are sushi lovers from way back. When we moved to Scottsdale we settled for the sushi served at some of the better known places in town. We figured average sushi was a small price to pay for living in paradise. THEN a friend gave us a gift certificate to Sakana. The first thing you notice is that sushi chefs all shout out the traditional greeting when you come in the door (just like in the early days of sushi). Next at the sushi bar the chefs actually talk to you, they are great at small talk and make suggestions and even will do special requests even if that requires them inventing something new (just like in the early days of sushi).
When your order comes you will find the fish to be the freshest most tasty in all Phoenix. On top of that the prices are reasonable. The place, at least the Scottsdale location, is usually busy. But here is a tip if you go to a sushi restaurant that is not busy then they probably donât sell fish fast enough to keep it fresh. Sakanaâs combination of great service, great food and reasonable prices guarantee they will have the freshest fish.
I used to think that I finally found the best sushi in phoenix but as I have been doing a lot of traveling and going back to some cities I had found great sushi in before, I realized that I have found not the best sushi in Phoenix but simply the best sushi at Sakana
Great place to go to for sushi. Big portions for not a big price. Some of the best sushi I've had!
Top down the best sushi restaurant we have EVER been to. The portions are huge, the service is top-notch, and the prices are reasonable...highly recommend.
