| About: | Auditorium of South Mountain High School was constructed in 1972 and has since then being used as a venue for a large number of events. With its thin-shell structure, the building is unique and impressive. What is even more interesting is that, it was not built in the place it stands now. it was first built on a mound and then placed on its present position. Many large and popular events take this auditorium as their venue. |

I am currently a senior at South Moutain High School and I am also the student body president of the 2009-2010 school year. I feel that this school has so much to offer to studetns who have the desire to learn and be successful. There is always something going on on campus and many clubs have community activities going on. Our campus is really diverse and I love my school very much. Class of 2010....!!!!!
A place of excellence; a place of challenges; a place of future leaders just waiting to share what they have learned. A school is an institution of learning. South Mountain High School and the South Mountain Village / Community is what success is all about. Parental involvement is a must at all levels and especially in high school. If you know someone who dropped out of school, tell them to go and finish. South Mountain has day and evening classes so call and chat with a counselor .
There are a lot of successful people who still live in the Phoenix area who would not have been if it wasn't for SMHS. How about giving back !
A few of the students are vandalizing the property directly south of the ball diamonds. Everyday they cut through the property on their way to school and then home again. Some will quickly run behind one of the new townhomes built there and spray paint graffiti on the walls and back doors of a few units. They have broken windows on several occasions as well as breaking off lighting fixtures and other fixtures to the buildings. I am now photographing students as they pass through the property and I fully intend to bring relentless prosecution against each and every trespasser.
