Somebody ruined Chase's. It used to be pretty good. Now it is lousy and expensive.
Bad combo. Too bad, it could be a gem and our side of town needs a good diner.
This ain't it!
We have been to Chase's many times over the years and always loved it. The experience we had today let us know that things have changed, and it has really dropped off in quality, at least in terms of the food. We were there at noon and the place was empty... This seemed strange, but then we ordered. The burgers were terrible--bad meat, which was extremely fatty and almost "mushy," and buns that were yesterday-fresh at best. Compared to the past, it was a noticeable difference in the quality of the food--meat, vegetables, even the french fries seemed to be of lower quality. My wife had a salad, which at $9+ you would think would be edible. Terrible tuna, unripe tomatoes, limp lettuce--a complete waste of money. We noticed too that the burger prices on the menu are different from the actual price you are charged--only by $.50, but when a swiss mushroom burger and fries now costs $9.29, plus another $2.39 for a soda, you expect to get at least the quality Chase's has had in the past. To pay more for so much less is something of a surprise, and I hope today was just an off day. Hopefully things will change with the quality of the food...
Excellent diner food!
If my family wakes up early enough on Sunday, we're there.
