I ordered take out sushi roll for lunch today. When I opened the take out container, the first thing I saw was a short black hair in the box next to one of the rolls. I took it back, and I must say their customer service was something less than I expected. The woman at the front desk gave me a short, "I'm sorry", then curtly refunded my money. I cannot recommend Sapporo at all. Poor customer service and hair in the food is inexcusable!
The food was good... however, I recommend that you order a beverage other than water. I was with a party of 9 and the 2 of us that ordered water did not receive our drinks until the waiters fourth visit. (note: the first three visits consisted of taking drink orders, delivering drink orders [soda and alcohol], and then returning to take our food orders. At this point I had to ask the waiter for my water.) I found it annoying and rude that I didn't receive my drink order the same time as everyone else.
Bring your earplugs!: At my son's request for his birthday, our family--3 mid-20's,the birthday guy's 30, and we 60-ish parents--had dinner at Sapporo last Wednesday night. My husband and I had eaten there previously, so we were looking forward to going. We had reservations, but still had to wait about 20 minutes. The music was so terribly loud that it was impossible to hold a conversation. Our server was adept and personable. My teriaki salmon was outstanding! One of my sons had the chicken teriaki and said that the chicken was chewy, the sauce not that wonderful and he's rather have the dish at Samuri Sam's. I guess you could say that the food quality to be uneven. Everyone loved their sushi, various kinds, that they ordered. If you wish a nice family dinner with conversation, go to Sho-gun at Cactus and Tatum!
