Now I know why people laugh at Arizonians, if they believe this is good food for the price, my only suggestion to them is to save their money and travel to Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and New York to eat.
This place was so overhyped as to how good it is and I can tell you that it is sub-standard compared to any respectable steak house in a big city.
Just returned on 12/13/08- This is a high end with exceptionally fresh fish. However, we got nailed on an appetizer. All appetizers were in the $9 to $16 range and the waiter mentioned two stone crabs were the special appetizer. We bit or got bit, when we found out Mastros charged us $58.00! for the two claws. I needed OBAMA with me to spread the wealth. Overall the dinner and portions were great but the high $$ appetizer left us w a sour note. Eat Stone crabs in Miami, not Scottsdale.
Terrible! The only reason it gets one sta is that the waiter tried hard. Worst Sea Bass I've ever had, warm white wine (sent back), over-priced and just plain nasty.

Can't agree with you more, this restaurant is good for Arizonians possibly, for others with a sophisticated and experienced individuals it leaves much to be desired.
