I've tried alot of indian food places around the valley and delhi palace is the best i've found.
They don't americanize their food, and the service and food are really good. Try their chicken tikka masala!
Also the owners always come around and ask how everything is. You can tell by eating and visiting that their heart is definitely in it and it shows in the food.
A friend and I went here on a Wednesday night around 8 pm and had both excellent food and service. I was worried from other reviews that the service would be slow but it was prompt, polite and overall perfect. Our order was taken quickly, food arrived in the right order and we didn't wait long for anything, including ample water refills. It's the first Indian food I've had in the Valley but quite comparable to other large cities (Minneapolis and suburban London). Prices were very reasonable and when we asked for 'medium' heat, both my friend and I agreed we received that for the malai kafta and chicken vindaloo. The atmosphere was better than expected, especially upon seeing the strip mall location.
Do not hesitate to try this place for dinner; I can't vouch for the buffet as I've never been a fan of those. I'll definitely be going back, and quite possibly for take-out if my friend isn't readily available.
This is the second best Indian restaurant in the valley. I personally think Royal Taj has better food but Delhi Palace has a much more professional ambience and service. The food is classic Punjabi style and if you are Indian like me and hate most of the Indian restaurants in the valley and desire the real thing, go to this restaurant and it will be pretty close to the food you've had in bigger cities like New York, Chicago, Toronto and Dallas. Lately, I just feel that Royal Taj has more flavor to their food. Dehli Palace is really good but it lacks that addictive qualty that makes you want to come back for more.
The major problem I had with this retaurant is that they don't serve their Tandoori and grilled items on a sizzling fajita plate. This is a major flaw. Most non-Indian people won't catch this but you never serve Tandoori chicken or shish kebab on a white plate. It should be served sizzling hot on a fajita skillet with tongs, lemon and onion. The chicken tikka came out on a white dinner plate and it was undercooked. This was highly disappointing and unprofessional! My father was so disturbed by this that even the manager had to admit this folly and he served it correctly on the sizzling plate. This would be the equivalent of microwaving a steak. If you order any tandoori item, make sure to request they serve it on the sizzling platter.
