Tonight will be the first time I go to The Improv and am already going there with a bad notion. I purchased tickets online and was charged 3 times, I was told two of those charges would be dropped within 25-48 hours. I spoke to my bank and Merchant Authorization would be able to drop the charges sooner however when I called to ask The Improv to give Wells Fargo that authorization they didn't let me finish my explanation and told me that their account manager was out for the day and no one else could do this. I know have to wait 24-48 one hundred dollars less in my bank account! HORRIBLE. I don't even want to know what's in store for tonight. I would stay home but as of right now I paid $150 for tickets- without dinner.
I must say that I am extremely disappointed with the staff of Tempe Improv and this isn't the first time. But last night was the last straw. What was suppose to be a fun comical night turned into being my last night ever to attend Tempe Improv. I understand that NBC was there and was running most of the show, but to wait outside from 5:30 to 7:00 still expecting to get served food is ridiculous. Our group of 8 had all checked yes for dinner and we never got even our order taken by the supposed waitress we had. Some tables were getting service, but others were having the same issue. Heck, the table to our left got dinner they even got dessert. I later found out that the reason for that is because the owner and his friends were at that table. Now that is just poor business on the behave of Tempe Improv not NBC. I did speak to a manager that really has no place being a manager because all she could say to me is that she didn't have time for this and she couldn't stop rolling her eyes. Our waitress had taken one drink order and then assumed that we all wanted another round 15 minutes before the show was over. BEWARE: Other people also have told me that this has happened to them. Its a way for the bar to make extra cash, by just getting the drinking even if you didn't order them. And at $15-20 dollars a drink that adds up!!! We never wanted another round just some FOOD!!! It had been hours for us with out food. It was just rude to only serve some tables and not others. I can honestly say I would have been more understanding if someone would have taken the initiative to inform us of the delays from the get go!!!! My group and I will never attend again and I am going to do my best to inform whoever I can of this experience. Thanks for a not so comical night.
Go for the funny not for the food or drinks: The club has a great staff of friendly people. The food was so- so and the drinks are over priced and weak. However, The comedy was top noch! What else do you expect from a comedy club right?
