I think this post office is outstanding. Apparently, those who criticize our postal service do not realize just how difficult a job it is and just how many duties each postal service employee must complete daily under, from April to about November, extremely high temperatures without dropping dead or suffering a heart attack, stroke, heatstroke or any number of other occurrences.
Years ago when doing mailings for a large non-profit, I had the opportunity to look behind the scenes at a couple of post offices and I was astonished by how dedicated these people are, how many duties each has and how calm they must remain in the face of constant criticism, etc. Could those who criticize perfectly perform, daily, at least 75 duties/tasks simultaneously? Try mowing your lawn, folding your laundry, running errands, and painting your house simultaneously and see if you're up to it.
The postal service is constantly non-funded and/or underfunded while consistently expected to provide outstanding service to a crushing amount of customers, thanks to the U.S.'s increasing population explosion of those here illegally. This is akin to an individual who was hired 20 years ago at $7 an hour for a stressful, demanding job not once getting a raise in 20 years but remaining motivated to perfectly perform a job that has now become at least a hundred times more demanding and stressful. Again, those who criticize the postal service should try to put themselves in these people's shoes. Call your local post office and see if you can take a tour; you will be shocked at how so few people can achieve so much.
I know there are those critics who will say that if those who work for the U.S. postal service are "unhappy, they can work elsewhere". I've heard this time and again when I worked stressful, demanding jobs at low rates of pay and here's my answer to you: 1. Unlike you lucky folk who are blessed with the ability to obtain the first high-paying job you apply for no matter how many times you switch jobs due to companies going under, many aren't that lucky; 2. Some of these jobs are more of a "calling" than just a job; 3. If no one worked for the U.S. postal service, how would you get your mail? You'd pay a lot more to send it and receive it through Fed Ex and UPS.
this post office does not care one bit about customer service...i never received my package they said was delivered and they never really tried to track it. i called for over a week before someone even actually answered the phone. the post office in general has really gone down hill...
