While this theatre hasn't been updated in a while, it is still a good place to see a movie. When I go to see a movie I am there for the movie and not the gameroom or concessions stand. That said, the popcorn and hot dogs are good and the theatre doesn't care if you bring your own water so you're not stuck buying some of theirs for too much dough.
The theatre's lack of techno wow keeps the crowds down, which as far as I am concerned, is one of the most important things about a theatre. All of those places that are attached to a mall attract tweens who spend more time on their cell phones than watching the movie.
As for the neighborhood, I would bet that the reviewers who think the area is lousy are the same people who won't let their daughter date someone because he looks "different." So, unless you're not a fan of diversity, you will have no problem with the neighborhood.

Reviewed from Yahoo! Movies: This theater is a dump! The facilities are run down and dirty, the employees don't give a damn about much of anything and have very poor supervision, and the area is so bad that you're likely to have your car broken into or stolen while you're watching the moving.
