BUYER BEWARE!!! RIP OFF SHOP!!! LIARS, CON MEN!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE!!! Do not take your car to this place or any AASTRO location. I took my car there for a warranty repair, they told me no problem, they could fix the car under my extended warranty. 3 weeks later my car was not fixed and they were trying to charge me $4750.00 for a transmission rebuild!! I called the manufacturer of my car and found out a brand new transmission was only $2600.00!!. When I told them this, they got nasty, when I went to get my car they charged me 525.00 and held my car hostage until I paid them for doing absolutley nothing! They gave me a trasmission in pieces in my trunk and when I took it to another transmission place I found out AASTRO had stolen parts from my transmission!! Beware of this price gouging rip off shop. Dishonest, and horrible customer service!
I took my car to Mr. Clutch, it was like night and day, my warrenty paid the bill, nly cost me the 100 dollar deductable, If I would have used AASTRO, I would have been out of pocket 2700.00 plus the 2000.00 my warranty would have paid them!! Go to Mr. Clutch instead, they are honest, and will treat you like a paying customer!!

AVOID this place.. I had dexcool sludging up in my radiator of a '96 Blazer. I took it there because of their location, and the fact they were open more around the holidays than other shops.

This was several years ago. I don't remember the initial charge, but after destructively inspecting the vehicle, they told me that I would need a new radiator, AND a transmission line replacement.

I was not leaking transmission fluid before going there, nor was my transmission slipping or acting up. I was in disbelief. I complained that it couldn't be right. They couldn't care less. My cost.. about $1,000. Extortion.. I needed to get the vehicle back, I needed it not apart. I remember there would have been a charge to put it back together. I'd rather get the vehicle back operational..

Well, it was a one time deal.. The seem to not care about repeat customers. I surely will not return, nor recommend them.

Buyer Beware: I approached Aastro Transmission and agreed to pay $325 for removing the transmission and transfer case for inspection and to estimate the repair costs. The shop would apply the $325 to any repairs I choose to authorize.

After two days, George called me and began with a laundry list of repairs on items not related to the transmission or anything in the drive train. These included testing my brake fluid - it s contaminated, the power steering fluid it s contaminated, the AC lines they are wet; all these before we even talked about the drive train. I was told that the rear main bearing and transmission cooling lines are leaking never a drop on my driveway though and that the transfer gear had a broken collar and one gear worn.

George told me that the cost to rebuild the transfer case is $742.66. He then started in on the transmission. George explained that the transmission was not broken but that the seals are hard and not pliable and that I should rebuild the transmission for $2575.83 or $2375.25. (The Difference in price being the type of warranty.)

I declined the repairs on the transmission and authorized the $742.66 rebuild of the transfer case. He explained that there would be more costs to put the transmission back together.

Confused, I explained that I was concerned that they would sabotage my transmission and he again told me that it would cost money to put it back together or he could give me the parts in a box and I could take the car somewhere else.

The $325 removal and inspection fee turned into a $504.68 R&I (Remove and Install or Inspect) charge and was not deducted from the repair bill as promised. This and the charges to NOT repair my transmission ran the repair bill up to $1707.53.

Refusing to pay this $1707.53 in extortion money, I had a tow truck pick up my car and tow it to another transmission repair shop, with the parts in a box. The agreed upon $325.00 for the estimate turned into $342.87. More magically appearing costs.

This unethical practice of luring in unsuspecting citizens and then holding them hostage must be stopped. The customer understands that the initial charge is to remove and inspect but does not realize that there will be an additional charge to put their car back together. The only other choice the customer has is to tow the car to another shop.

I took a running car to Aastro Transmission and got back a box of parts and a non-functional car. To add insult to injury, I had to pay $342 for this "service."
