I hope you updat this . French Quarter is no longer in business. :o(
at the begining of the week myself and a few friends decided to give the french quarter a shot, because we have heard a mixed feel for the place. we walked into the restrant and it was dark and kinda had that dirty feel to it. but we decided to try it anyway. so we sat down at a booth that was up aganst the wall way that had a metal fence covering a quater of the table way to small for four people. the waitress came over seeing that we were all cramped just smiled and asked us for our drink order. i ordered a tea thinking that i would have the option of sweet tea. nope not here, and the after taste never left my mouth even after to cigaretts. we decided to move to a high table, we sat down and almost fell off. the chair legs were uneven and wobbly. well this happens. we ordered our food and needless to say very unhappy with the service as well as the food. everything was way to salty and the catfish tasted like the oysters, and the catfish was not even deepfried it was blackened. my muffaleta came out cold and with only two slices of lunch meat ham, cheese and olive tapenade. not what i was expecting at all. the salad......i have never had anything that bad in my life. its a salad how can you mess that up? the hurricane we ordered tasted like coolaid and the after taste not much better. after telling the waitress that we were unhappy with out meals she just roled her eyes and told us she would talk to the manager. you never bring the manager into it. you tell the customers that you will see what you can do to fix the problem. not impressed at all and needless to say that we will never be back.
It started out that my boss, his wife, and my roomie and I went out to have dinner, we had heard about the French Quarter from quite a few people so we thought we would go check it out, was less then impressed when we pulled in the parking lot, the building looked like it needed to be torn down, but we decided to go ahead and give it a shot, the first 10 min was fine, the atmosphere was dark and had that dingy look to it, our server came over and got our drink order, at first she seemed friendly enough, she came back with our drinks...and asked us if we were ready, we ordered an appetizer and told her that we needed a few minutes to look at the menu. We all decided to get something different and pick off each others plate so see how everything was. I ordered the blackened catfish and had gotten a side salad...well the croutons were stale but i overlooked it hoping that the dinner would be better. We all got our food, crawfish etouffe, blackened catfish, muffaletta, and seafood platter...I took a few bites of my catfish, not only was it extremely salty it had a very strong fishy taste...the muffaletta was cold, which is not supposed to be, the jumbalaya was from a box, the crawfish etouffe was extremely salty and had very little crawfish in it and the seafood platter was just lame looking, after about 10 min our server came over and asked us how our dinner was, i told her that i didnt like the catfish and that i wanted it taken off the bill...she rolled her eyes and said that she would have to talk to the manager...shortly she came back to clear our plates, we told her that we were not happy with our meal and again she got an attitude and said that was how the meals were made, not seeming to concerned about it...overall the food was horrible, we were less impressed with the service, definitely will never be back to that resturant again. Very rarely will i not tip the server but this is one time i think that it was called for.
