Tried the Ugly's but I wasn't impressed. Mine were a bit tough and not very flavorful. I skipped the steak sauce but wished I hadn't. The twice baked potato was great though. A little more bacon and it would've been perfect. I'll go back and try their other meats though. The NY strip looked good in the case as did the ribs.

My wife and son love the Jan's special steaks, while on those rare occasions when I eat steak, I prefer the "ugly" steaks. We've been shopping at the Broadway store for years. The convenient location two doors down from Beverage House is an added bonus. Beer and BBQ steak! Yum!

No one else has mentioned it, but Dickman's has THE BEST sausages in Tucson, if not the Southwest. I highly recommend the cheese and jalapeno and the Cajun, though pretty much everything is excellent. If you're a bargain hunter, look in the freezers along the east wall. The batches of sausage that don't get sold are packed up 2-3 to a pack and are available for just $1.99 a pound! When I find Cajuns, Andouille or cheese/jalapenos in the freezer, I stock up!

The seafood selection is kind of skimpy. They also have chicken, which has always been high-quality. Yes, it's cheaper at Safeway, but Dickman's chicken is fresh and worth a few cents more.

When it's time to grill, which in our household is a Sunday dinner tradition, we' head for Dickman's.

I'm not much on spuds, but their twice-baked potatoes are favorites of my wife and son. They are a bit on the pricey side, but they also are very labor intensive, so I guess the price isn't that big a deal.

Finally, the service is great. Everyone is very helpful and when I'm picking out steaks, they'll show me what's underneath the next row or two if I don't see anything I like.

Overall, I give Dickman's 5 stars without hesitation. It's great!
