Alfonso's Mexican Food

Recommended by two sheriff deputies, so we were only mildly apprehensive about the looks of the place. But once we got the food back to the hotel room and tried it, we were ready to head back over for more! The best chicken tacos I have ever had and I grew up eating mexican food in Tucson. Beans and carne asada are incredible; the last time we drove through Winslow, we stopped and ate at Alfonso's (as usual). Because we are little piggies, we also left with a carne asada quesadilla, thinking that we would eat it for dinner that night. We could smell it for miles and after about two hours, we gave in and pulled it out of the take-out bag. It was huge and stuffed with carne asada and cheese. It was also marvelous!!
Bottom line is this: the looks of the place do not do the food justice. Try it if you are any where near Winslow!
I highly recommend Alfonso's....maybe we should make a run to Winslow....hmmmmm

Yummie food!!! Great price. Honestly the best value for fast food in Winslow. Better than the other sit down Mexican places around. Only bad thing---yuckie restrooms.

I do agree with the previous review that the food is authentic, inexpensive, and nice portions. However, I find it a bit greasy. You can eat it in the car, but you may need to drape a towel over yourself!

The tortillas are good and NOT mass produced.

Easy access from the interstate- it is in the old McDonalds building and across the street from the new McDonalds.
