He also noticed that some cables were missing from the monitor speakers. The speakers given to me by RAC were unacceptable, had to be connceted to the front of the CPU and the plug was very short so they had to be hooked with an extension cord and the speakers were almost out of the hutch so I am using my old speakers.
So the manager told me this: He was going to provide me with a CPU with VIsta, the larger CPU because he preferred having working space inside the system itself, it made sense to me. Fine. He was supplying me with a new monitor, with cables so I could have sound in my monitor, like it was supposed to be. Ok. I was getting 2 USB ports in the front. Great. I was getting a new set of speakers that I could use. Fantastic. The reason he ws giving me Vista was because it had been so long that I had used XP that I had forgotten all my navigation skills. I was fumbling trying to get from here to there trying to get the CPU to work. And I enjoyed speech recognition. this was going to happen ASAP. Great.
He asked me if I cared which product (CPU) it was. No, as long as it works. He hooks up the loaner. No sound. Another 45 minutes, no sound. It was working just fine before he got here. Well, my system, that he is going to take care of personally, is coming the next day. His day off. I said, don't come on your day off, come Thursday. I'll be fine.
It's been two weeks today. Two employees showed up at my door without calling, I had taken medication and was taking a nap before leaving for Phoenix so I did not have time nor was coherent enough to be dealing with the issues that were sure to come up. I told them to call me before coming over so I could back up the system.
I back up the system and call the store. I am ready to switch out. I ask for the manager. He has been transferred to another location. The new manager is the person who has spoken rudely to me. I do not want to speak with her, but, she mercifully had just stepped outside, so I leave a message. No call back.
I call the next day. I identify myself to the employee and I would like to confirm the equipment that I was going to receive.
1st I am informed that my system was going to be delivered tomorrow. Friday, 6/19 I am calling 6/16. They were showing up without letting me know. I make an appointment for after 3PM. I ask about confirming the equipment that I am to receive. I am informed that "I am getting the computer that I paid for". I asked for the specifications. "You are getting the original computer that you paid for" I told him about the problems I had with that CPU, and the 48 hours stipulation. "We are giving you yours and we are taking back the loaner"
I am disabled, schizo affective bipolar disorder. I am on Social Security disability. I sacrificed tremendously to pay for this system. I am also diabetic and have had a stroke. I am on huge amounts of medication and have worked hard to to lose weight (60 LBS) since OCT.
I have been in a panic since that phone call. I have slept 2 hours in the past 72 hours.
I just called the store and was told by a young lady that "their property" was being picked tomorrow and "my property was being delivered, honey"
I just spoke to the gentleman I had the agreement with and he is now calling that store. I am in great distress, I can barely breathe and cannot see through the tears. I hope all goes well.
God always tests His children. I still have faith.....
