We will be dining at the Palace (Haunted Hamburger to the locals) again tonight. It's a regular part of our schedule with our friends. Wednesday night is 2 for 1 burger night and we all go and have burgers. Good food, and an especially good value on a Wednesday night! If you are dining alone, you can get burger number two to go...

Their other food is tasty too. They won an award for their ribs in 2006 at the "Rhythm and Ribs Festival".

Full bar, and it's fun to sit at the bar and listen to the locals talk. Hey, I'm a local...are you listening to me?

Can be crowded on a weekday, lots of tourists come in.

For dessert, try what we call the "3 day cake". It's 7 layers tall, chocolate heaven. The 3-day part is for 2 people, it's too much to eat at once. We have some there, some the next day, and some on day 3. OK, so we stretch it out, but it's at least 2-day cake.

The same servers have been there for several years. You feel like family when you are a regular diner there.

Oh, there are great views of the Verde Valley from the dining area at sunset. Try to get there and enjoy it!

There is just something about this place. Kinda cozy in the winter time and in the summer, you can sit out on the porch and eat. I have never had a bad meal there and I have been there a lot. Lunch and dinner. The hamburgers are fantastic and are made with fresh meat, not frozen. Their steaks are great and I love their sandwiches too. Sometimes you have to wait to get a seat, because it is a popular place. You won't be disappointed though. Even though I don't work as a chef any longer, I do have a culinary arts degree and know good food.

The wait was too long for the food. This was not the great hamburger I had heard about but a frozen food service burger. Way too crowded and not worth the wait! The next day we had a burger at the Mile High Grill, now that was a burger! Hand made from fresh ground beef. We will be back but not to the Palace, we will take our guests to the Mile High Grill.
