We stopped there last week on our trip and the food and service were great. The young waitress we had was great. They had these neat salt/pepper shakers made from 12oz coca cola bottles and she told us what they cost then told us how to get them cheaper...I would recommend this place. Places do change from time to time but our experience was fantastic.
I strongly recommend to AVOID this place.
My parents and I were traveling to the Grand Canyon on 5/17/2008 and stopped at this restaurant for dinner. First, it took us a while until our waitress appeared. The beer they make was good and the ribs were okay. When my dad called one of the waitresses to order another beer, she said "I can't take your order. You have to wait for your waitress". He asked her to call our waitress, to which she nodded and left. Well, nothing happened out of that! After a several minute wait, he tried the same thing with another waitress - again, same exact answer, same exact result (i.e., no sign of our waitress anywhere). 10 more minutes pass, and finally our waitress arrives. We ordered another beer, finally... And here is the best part: imagine our reaction when we get our bill with a 18% tip automatically included!!! For the horrible service, that is. And that's for a party of 3 !!! We even called one of the waiters to ask why for only a party of 3 we see such high tip - to which he said: "Well, this is how we do it here". I even went outside to check if it said anywhere that they automatically include 18% tip for any party size - not written anywhere!.. Well, I guess we were not surprised anymore to see an additional line for an additional tip (I guess a shameless 18% tip for absolutely horrible service wasn't enough for them!!) on the receipt! (Of course we left zero.)
My understanding is that they do this knowing that most customers are tourists and thus come and go. Well, if this is the kind of service you want - this place is definitely for you :-) But I doubt that :-) There are many other restaurants in town - we didn't get a chance to try any of those, but they are probably a lot better than this one.
