You Won't Be Shafted! :-): I agree with the other reviewers wholeheartedly. I too always get the green chile-cheese burgers...so I'm probably missing out on some really good other choices. Best of all, after filling your stomach, you can walk from one end of Madrid to the other and back for exercise, sampling its ecclectic little shops, and galleries. For those that don't know, Madrid (Mad-rid) was an old Coal Mining Town on the very scenic "Turquoise Trail" from Santa Fe to Albuquerque. (Forget I-25's insanity...choose NM14...and "cruise!"
Last of the old roadhouses: Bikers, hippies, cowboys, vets, artists, or just locals, people come to see the color of the people living here. And their livingroom is the Mine Shaft Tavern. Cheer, Music and Good Food.
What a find!: The best green chile cheeseburgers north of the Owl Cafe in San Antonio! And don't forget the selection of NM beers - the best!
