Beware of this restaurant if you purchase a gift certificate. THEY WON'T HONOR ANY GIFT CERTIFICATE THEY SELL OR ARE SOLD ON THEIR BEHALF.
I received a gift certificate for this restaurant the small print states that the certificate never expires but for a $50 dollar off coupon you must spend over $100.
I took my wife, our son and his family of five to the restaurant. we waited for over an hour for our food. when we finished eating and we presented the coupon as partial payment of the $101.70 for tacos and enchiladas they refused to honor the gift certificate.
I have lived in Albuquerque all my life, I have never heard anything good about this restaurant. But, I have an open mind and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Unfortuantely, this restaurant preys on unsuspecting tourists with bad service, and over priced mediocre food. On top of all that they won't accept their gift certificates.
I will never return to this restaurant and I will be sure to let all of my very large family and friends about our experience.
My husband and I decided to visit Old Town and thought we would have dinner there and listen to the music. He ordered a steak and enchiladas. He said this was absolutely the worst steak he ever had. The carne adovada I ordered was not any better. The poor waitress had just started and didn't know what to say when she asked how our food was. We would never make a scene or make her feel bad so we just asked for the check and left the food on our plate and left. I would never recommend this to anyone. It's a shame that in such a prime location, there is no pride in the food. I rather go to Taco Bell.
First and last time we will visit this restaurant. The service was bad. We wanted rib eye steak and after sitting for 20 minutes and finally ordering the waiter tells us that they are out of rib eye. That should of been the first thing mentioned when we were being seated. If we had known ahead of time we would of went somewhere else. We asked the waiter a question and all he could say was " I don't know, I just work here". When he refilled the tea it splashed my daughter wetting her shirt. He was very sloppy. The sopapillas were really really greasy. You could squeeze the grease out of them Gross!!!! Didn't eat those. I ordered chicken quesadillas and when brought to the table they were hard, and greasy as well. Not only that I put guacamole on one of them and there was a paper sticker in the food. When pointed out to the waiter he wanted to take my plate. Frankly I should of been offered a free plate of my choice but no there was no Rib eyes. It was obvious that this waiter did not want to work on Labor Day. I will be notifying the health department since paper is mixed in with the guacamole and who knows what else is mixed in the food being served.
Kathy P, your an ignorant moron that believes she might be smart. I don't even know you and your rebuttal of the former review displays your stupidity. Good luck one pulling your head out of your fill in the blank.
The restaurant may be as you described, but I have difficulty believing you because of your difficulty with the grammatical aspects of the English language, i.e., "should have" not "should of." "We would have GONE somewhere else" not "of went." Comma mistakes are too numerous to mention as well as a couple of incomplete sentences. Why were you getting a steak at a noted Mexican food restaurant? Are you from Texas by any chance? Yes, I believe how you express yourself says a lot about your opinions. It's called EDUCATION.
