Excellent service and food. Close your eyes and pick anything on the menu. There is a reason that the parking lot is always packed, year round. A warm fire in the winter and a nice patio in the summer. I recommend the NY Strip with geen chile cream sauce.
I made reservations for two at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 3rd. My girlfriend and I were celebrating her 37th birthday, and she wanted to go to the Indigo Crow Cafe for dinner. We arrived early and were sat down about 15 minutes before our reservation, great. We had salads, and both ordered the filet. We sat patiently, only getting up to have a cigarette, and waited for our dinner. I believe our dinner finally arrived around 8:50 pm. After the server and the owner of the company had asked us to wait patiently, our dinners were ruined. I attempted to eat my girlfriends rare filet, while she ate my meduim filet. My filet smelled and tasted like ground beef. She ate my medium, and ended up getting ill about an hour later. Still being reserved, we shared my girlfriends birthday dessert, and then handed the bill. There was an $11.00 credit to the bill which now totaled $69.00? not exact. Maybe they covered a little more. I felt it was a slap on the face. I paid the bill and still tipped the waiter according to the original total. The whole dinner experience was very dissappointing, I was embarrassed and apologetic to my girlfriend. That was our second visit, and will be the last. The owner was present, and I was not impressed with his influx of excuses and lack of care towards our table. Comments about who I am or how I look, did not swing my opinion.
We were excited to go the the Indigo Crow for our anniversary. We had reservations that I set up online. The minute we walked in we felt uncomfortable. We were set at a table in the corner of the bar. You would think that a reservation would be placed in a better spot in the restaurant. We were approached by one waiter who said he'd take care of us, then a hostess to apologize for the delay and took our wine order, then another waiter who was very slow. We felt ignored most of the night. Maybe because we were the youngest couple in the place(I'm 27). The food tasted good, but the quality was less than expected for the price. I had the duck which was good, but the rice that accompanied it was way undercooked. My wife's pasta was undercooked, but again tasted great. I could have sent it back, but we were tired of waiting. The Schmmitt Riesling we had was very good. I'm not the type to complain to the manager to get a free meal, I don't like to make a scene and ruin other people's atmosphere. Besides, there was nothing he could have done to get us to come back. We will not be going back.
