Well served with a smile: Living in Chinle doesn't give you very many options when you're hungry. You're either eating at home, fast food, or if you're fortunate a sit down meal in a nice restaurant like Junction. I've eaten here a few times in the past, and their menu has changed somewhat. They did add a Pizza Hut Express, which is great, but the largest pizza size they serve is a medium, and the choice of toppings are limited. The prices are a bit much, if you ask me, but I usually don't eat Pizza Hut very often anyway. Their service is above average, and their hosts are typically charming and well mannered. I would try to stay clear of the TVs if you're more into a good conversation than the latest news. The layout of the restaurant is cozy and nicely decorated with the southwestern and Navajo motifs, and there is the Code Talker room, if you have a large get together. The rate to rent it I think is reasonable. The only thing I don't agree with now, is their new policy on call-in orders. You need to have an approved credit card before you make an order. They no longer accept phone orders that will be paid when the food is picked up. Overall, I do enjoy having a meal there, usually something with chicken or their Mushroom Burger. Their seasoned fries are wonderful, and I think they have a few good choices for the kids on their children's menu. This is one restaurant you can usually count on for a good evening out with the family. P.S. They don't serve alcohol here, since the Navajo Reservation doesn't allow alcohol to be purchased or sold here. You're mostly stuck with something without it.

Tough Steak: Located in Chinle, AZ, this establishment is one of the local favorites, but it is only one of two sit-down restaurants in Chinle. As such, there is not much a choose.

This place serves it all: Mexican, Chinese, Pizza Hut, American and Navajo food. I have only tried the breakfast menu and one steak for all my meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's okay. It's better than most places in Chinle, but it lacks in character.

The White House Special is pretty good. The White House special is a large egg burrito with gravy and chili smothered over it. It is served with hash-browns. I normally order it with an extra egg to give it a more husky appeal. I devour it with red chili. The green chili is tasteless. It goes down very well. I'd recommend it to someone very hungry.

The steak is horrible. Do not order it. It is tougher than an old sheep's hamstring. To have them replace it is more of a hassle. I was very hungry and I only ate the edges and fat. But, they made a big stink about paying for it. I wish I ordered breakfast.

They serve fresh-brewed ice tea with lemon wedges. It's good; it could be tastier. Their carrot cake is pretty good with coffee. I'd recommend it.

The service is pretty good. They are always smiling. The manager never seems to smile. lol...but, the service is pretty good.

The atmosphere is pretty good. It is warm and comfortable. I can go without the television blaring all the politics of the day. It would be a nicer restaurant without it.

They have a unique Navajo Code Talkers room with all the pictures collected of Navajo Code Talkers. It is a great room for military folks to look at the Navajo's finest.

OVERALL, it's an okay place to go. I'd go just for their special, carrot cake and coffee.
