Only place to eat sushi and japanese: We used to like Teppan, but hated the wait, eating with strangers, and the cold food. This is the answer. I recommend the teriyaki steak when you want a big meal. Otherwise pull up to the sushi bar, pour some warm sake, and enjoy. The cleanest restaurant in central New Mexico.

Consistantly good: My wife and I enjoy sushi here regularly and find the food and service very consistant. It is top notch (for NM) with all Asian (mostly Japanese) chefs and staff. Usually not too crowded.

Sushi you don't have to travel across town for: If you're in Rio Rancho, and you need a sushi fix, look no further than Ichiban. Even if you're not in the food for sushi, Ichiban is a great place for Japanese food. The service is very good. My only concern is, when it is very busy, there are times when it feels like you're forgotten. The issue seems to be due to lack of staff at times. Don't let that scare you away from one of the best sushi restaurants in New Mexico.
