| About: | The original Owl Cafe was born 150 miles south of Albuquerque and grew in popularity among desert travelers and nuclear scientists on their way to, or through, White Sands Missile Range. The Albuquerque location was built in the early 1990s to resemble a 1950s-era diner. Although the atmosphere is decidedly different from the original cafe, the cheeseburgers are the same and they were. Add the onion twirls and you will have more than a meal. Daily Blue Plate Specials are for sale. Homemade cakes, cookies and pies are available, but few customers have room left. |

User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI hope service wasn't like this in the 50's. The service was LOUSY. The burgers were nothing to write home about. The fries were too greasy. It was the first time I've never left a tip.

From TEXAS... what a great find! Every time I am in Albuquerque I pop in to the OWL... the Green Chili Cheese Burger with Xtra Cheese is FAB'dabulous, NO KIDDING! And don't forget the Chocolate Shake - best in the West! ...Great people, great service, great food... what a great place to eat if you love Diner food!!! Can't wait for my next visit... DJB / Dallas, Tx.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsFamily friendly! Old style diner in a horseshoe shape. Get a chocolate malt(served with a glass and the metal mixer) onion loaf and a green chili cheeseburger. Also, the breakfast will tide you over until dinner. Great Value.
