About:This 17th century house is tucked away at the back of a beautiful little patio and surrounded by a number of little shops. You will enjoy the friendly service, lively atmosphere and tasty dishes. The specialty of the house is the Blue Corn Enchiladas smothered in red or green chile. If you are timid with the chile, this is a good place to eat. The heat factor is low, but the flavor is great. The Posole, a hearty stew with hominy and pork, is great on a cold day.

We were just in Santa Fe for the day. I had read several reviews, and we decided to brave the long wait and eat at the Shed for lunch. The primary problem was the lack of service, and we did receive one of the tables tucked away in a corner (at least we had a view of the patio). We had three different wait staff, and nobody took ownership of our table. The food wasn't bad, however, the red chile sauce had no flavor. The green chile sauce was almost too hot. It wasn't awful, but certainly not worth the money or the time. Next time, I will find a place that the locals recommend.

Excellent food and prices. The only problem is that everyone knows how good it is and the wait can be long. Even if you don't call for reservations, the Shed is worth the wait. We were planning to go to a different, highly recommended resturant later in our stay but opted to go back to the Shed. The food was so good that we broke our own rule and went back to the same place twice.

This is in response to a yahoo user who reviewed the Shed on 3/13/08. The experience the writer describes is exactly why my husband and I no longer consider ourselves patrons. When we lived an hour away we would look forward to driving to Santa Fe just to eat there but the more frequently we went the more we realized how unappreciated we were. We have been at the hands of sarcastic hosts, and downright rude waitresses. They make you feel only preferred customers get the best seats even when you make a reservation. They charge for chips! which is outrageous and they dont put any tequila in their 9$ margaritas. When you complain they send you the same and treat you like you have a problem. The last time we dined at the Shed was for lunch. The big blonde guy with the crewcut was squatting down at specific tables to chat with his "real" patrons. The rest of us diners got barely a glance. I have written them twice over unsatisfactory treatment and they dont even bother to respond. If I owned this place it would be a totally different experience but save your time and money. Buy from the cart vendors on the plaza!
