Lots of cars parked outside promised a good dining experience. Service was fast and friendly. Prices inexpensive to reasonable ($7 and up). I had the combo with taco, enchilada, tamale, rice and beans. Portions were generous, food was OK -- average for this kind of fare. I would need to try a couple of other items to better judge. Only complaint: the taco was served on the same platter with the other items so the shell became a bit soft; it should be served on a separate plate.
Juanito's is a very family-oriented dining environment. The service is excellent. Once in the door, the hostess acknowledges your presence immediately and seats you with no waiting, and this was a busy Friday night! The menu entrees run about $10.00, perhaps more depending on what is ordered. I had the Chile Relleno Veracruz dish...it was fantastic! This is a nice place to relax and unwind after much driving.
A decent place to get Mexican food and a beer in Portales, although I like El Rancho better for New Mexico style, and the red chile at La Hacienda is to die for..
