User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsWhen we arrived at El Matador, we were encouraged by the amount of cars in the parking lot. Surely a sign of good food in a small town. What we didn't get is why you would be a regular at a restaurant that is so bad. The waitress was nice and sociable, but the food was... really really bad. The beef enchilada had poor quality meat and the chicken was soggy, like something that had been canned. Overall, the food wasn't good enough to ever convince us to return to this restaurant. Every member of our family was starving and yet we all left more than half a plate worth of food on the table. It is a good place to eat at if you are on a diet, because you won't feel like eating for awhile afterwards. The poor food, (including the spanish rice), only made up for itself in high prices. The sopapaillas were the only good thing there, especially drenched in honey.

as it being bad food thats a little extreme. this is northern new mexico real spanish food. If your from northern new mexico you wll find out el matador is a good place to eat, and our spanish food is different then taco bell and other places were is demanded to make a single way were real spanish food is not. so for me it was good and others all so
