if you get a chance to go there - don't do it. all i ordered was a phone battery and it took over a month to get it. i had it sent to the silver city radio shack where they signed for it and then did not inform me of when it came in. when i stoppe in to check on my order they were positive that it hadn't come in and that they will call when it does. i knew it had came in by checking the tracking number and seeing that the manager signed for it. i have a 2 hr drive one way and was not impressed when the 'found' the item the day after i was in the store. horrible service. DO NOT GO THERE. the fedex-ed the battery to me and that took and extra 2 weeks. so not worth it.

Talk about outrageous prices! No idea why this Radio Shack feels the need to gouge the heck out of Silver City residents. I was looking for a cable for my computer. Radio Shack had one, but the price was just plain nuts. I went to Wallyworld and found the exact same cable for 1/3 the price. And people wonder why these little specialty stores can't compete with big discount stores.

just to let you know I don't like to be called names. apparently, if you shop at radioshack in Silver City,N.M. that is how they refer to you instead of a customer. my girlfriend and i recently purchased a sportster 5 on saturday the 7th of june, around 5 or 6pm we tried to connect the sportster to our vehicle. once i finished i called to redeem my $50 card that we purchased with the sportster 5, the person for sirius satellite had told that the numbers on the back of the card were not working; so he gave two solutions. for me to go back to radioshack and have them scan the card again and call him back to see if that would work, if not then i would need a new card. well, i went to radioshack just as the guy asked and when i got there, i handed the card to a young lady and she took it to the back of the store. thinking she was working on my card, she came back out and said the manager would be right with me. as i browsed, i heard her ask if i needed help; i told her yes that my card wasn't working and that it needed to be scan. she told me that she would scan it for $50, not sure if she was joking or not i just looked at her and asked why. she said that my girlfriend had not paid for it and that she likes doing business with honest people, i don't like how she was just trying to tell me that the new employee she was training forgot to charge my girlfriend for the card. according to the receipt i had something was charged because a $40 was taken the price of the sportster. she then started to tell me that i didn't look like the kind of person that would take the sportster back to the store so that she can charge me properly. not believeing what i was hearing out of this person mouth, i quicking defended myself and told this employee that i don't like to be called a lair or a theft. i told her that if she was so worried about this purchase, why don't she call my girlfriend back and tell her what had happened. well, she didn't even know it was missing until i took it in to get it scanned. she said that it was a new employee that did the transaction and she made a mistake, i told her that i understand that she is a new employee but the way she was going off was not needed. then she started to ask me if i had ever had a job, when all i wanted to know is why she is telling me all this. so thinking that i had purchased this card & the sportster i told her i was leaving, when she threaten to call the cops on me if i walk out the store with the card. so i told her that we paid for something and if she wanted to call the cops that was fine with me, because her tone and the way she was trying to explain things was not very nice. her voice was loud and her comments were rude. i keep thinking that at any point, i could of gone off on her. most people that know me know that i'm not a pushover, so i told her that she can have the card but the sportster i was gonna keep. i don't normally write reviews about stores, but me and my girlfriend don't like to be called thefts for someone elses mistakes. don't worry, i'll still shop at radioshacks; just not the one in my home town-that's sad to say!!! if you ask me i don't think that manager cares if she's there today or tomorrow if you know what mean, and that's probably why your looking for help at that store.
