   I have eaten there quiet often, and have never had a problem with the service or the food. It has a high quality, the servers are always kind and they are more than willing to assist your every whim. I'm sorry if u don't think that the food there is "mexican enough" for you, but it tastes great, and comes out hot and ready. If you don't enjoy the food, then go to mexico, I'm sure their sanitary ways of cooking will fulfill your need for "mexican food." Otherwise, I fully recommend this great restaraunt, for you and your family!! I'll be going there again next time I pass through!

   Husband & I visited La Fonda in Artesia, NM on Sunday, 2/10/08 and were very disappointed. Used to be a very favorite eating place - with excellent Mexican food. Seems like their chips and salsa are still good but the food is nothing to brag about. Chile Rellanos had no cheese in them - the buffet is not good at all - would not recommend it - is not even kept hot enough to be safe in my opinion. Too bad ownership changed and the food quality went down. Will not be visiting again - too many good places to eat right here in Roswell. A good predictor was when it was a Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and the place was very empty - used to always be "waiting time" for a table, especially on Sundays! Gave it one star cuz I couldn't give it none!!!!!!

   yup! i agree-used to be fun also--but now theyve slowed down a little as far as service--seems like they dnt care anymore if we r satisfied or not--id rather go to roswell myself--maybe these greedy people are unsatisfied with theyre tips hehehe

   Sometimes good sometimes not so much...: La Fonda is a landmark in these parts and is good if you're not an expert in Mexican food. I like the chips and salsa but sometimes the food leaves something to be desired- Last time we ate there I had a taco salad- It was a tortilla shell (good) filled with salad (carrot chunks and all- not so good) smothered in chili (like chili dog chili- gag) and topped with fritos. Not exactly what I would call Mexican! Yuck!
