This place is the BOM!
I live in El Paso, and have been passing right by this joint for nearly twenty years without seeing it before a friend told me about it. We went before noon; the service was fairly quick. As others have said, go with the Tiger Burger. As good as my favorite green chile cheeseburger place in NM, the "Outpost Bar and Grill" in Carrizozo. They said they had been there since 1952, and I suspect the only thing to have changed since then are the prices. The girl working there noticed my dog in my truck, and invited me to bring him out to the table, "as long as he doesn't bother other customers". I love this place.
This is the best burger in town. Im talking about the Tiger Burger with double meat and great tasting fries. I usually go around 4 pm when there not busy. Im sure there slow at prime time. Each burger is carefully prepared so it does take time. As the meat is cooking a girl makes up the buns and adds the veggies and dressing.
I like the flavor as it reminds me so much of the burgers from the 50s'. Say this place is from the 50's. I guess they must be doing something right to stay in business all those years.
They have a good cherry, vanilla coke.
Runner up would be Mom's Cafe on first street. A pretty good half pound burger. Although Hi-D-Ho may cost less.
best burgers in town: all that fresh meat, serves may be slower than most companys but it is all fresh. maybe some of thier employees are not very polite but fresh burgers. the best cooks are in the day. i prefer to eat there in the early shift. still fresh meat.
