I read the other reviews, and wanted to share my experience. I was looking for a new truck and read some of the reviews listed here. I decided to try a couple of other dealerships in the Valley. What a joke!!! I got the run around everywhere I went. I decided to give Ford Country a try as a last result expecting the worst. Boy was I wrong. I had the best experience possible. I learned that it is the Sales People who make a Difference. I was helped by a salesman named Lance and he was terrific!! Very honest and paitent with me. I have recommended him to other friends who had a great experience as well. Point is you can have a bad experince or a great experience, depends on the connection you make with people helping you. A car is an expensive decision after all.
Be very careful when buying a car here...i bought a used 2002 Explorer at this Ford and at first it seemed ok and in good condition, but after a month, some major problems arised.... they supposedly do a 192 point check on the vehicle and systems before allowing it to be sold (they don't allow cars to leave the property in poor condition--so they say), but i guess that isn't the same as "passing" even though i think it should. only one month later, we find that the brakes were completely shot and the calipers had to be rebuilt as well as the shocks replaced---costing more than $900!! it would be nice to know that beforehand in case i get into an accident and kill somebody because i can't brake! besides that issue, they SO BADLY wanted my money that the finance manager made me a deal of holding post-dated checks until i was ready to have them cash them...they said to call them when i was ready to---well guess what. they ignored all my calls (and didn't return any of my messages and cashed them anyways too early and bounced them. i just moved here june 1 and i have no job yet and the $$ that was going to pay for the car was going to be from my 401K which was late in getting to me because of another issue, so i had to pay over $600 in overdraft fees and check fees and other fees and it left me super negative!!! THANKS A LOT, FORD!!! on a brighter note, if you do buy a car here, make sure you work with Tracy Taylor---he was so nice, courteous and quick---i don't know what the extent of the salespeople's knowledge of the cars histories and maintenances are, but i'm sure he wouldn't have let us take it if he had known about the brakes.
While many establishments aim for service with a smile, Ford Country seems to aim for service with a price.
After my Explorer broke down, I naturally figured the right place to have it towed was Ford Country, but that choice proved to be the wrong one.
We were quoted $125 on the phone for one procedure and $100 for another. What were these expensive repairs? They wanted to charge $125 to change the battery and $100 just for the diagnostic to determine what was actually wrong with the car.
Infuriated, we decided immediately to seek a repair elsewhere. While forgoing the most expensive battery change in history, we were still stuck with the $100 diagnostic.
Except it proved to not be a mere $100 diagnostic. A $20 âtechnician laborâ and a $27 fee for a âbattery chargeâ was added for a total of $147. When I confronted a manager on why we were quoted an outrageous-enough $100 to just find out what needed to be fixed and charged $147, the most I could get were several âIâm sorryâ cries. Donât be sorry when you know youâre ripping me off.
When the nightmare seemed to be nearly over, I then found out as the tow arrived that they had lost the keys, provoking me to wonder if I was about to be charged a âfind the keys we lostâ fee.
I have yet to shop Ford Country for a car, but if their conniving service department is any indication, I wouldnât want to.
