In November 2008, My Toyota Tundra had a axle seal leak due to boat-launch. I thought Findlay Toyota dealership would fix it under powertrain warranty, instead they tried to charge me $1400 for the leak and front/rear brakes.
I called AAMCO on Valley View from yellow page, talked to John and he knew exactly what I needed done. He gave me a quote on the phone for $500 for the repair not including front brakes because he said I don't need them with my 40,000 miles on the truck.
AAMCO Valley View fixed my truck, raised the breather on the axle to prevent this from happening again and they checked my front brakes which was fine. They charged me exactly $500 like John quoted on the phone.
*Update*
March 2009
I have been back for the same problem for the third time. The sencond trip, about 2 weeks after, they fixed it without charge. The third trip, about 2 months after the second trip, they charged me for $600 for new parts, partial labor, and front brakes. Because they said those were not in the first repair.
I am not happy and feel cheated.
Awesome great honest mechanics. I have used these guys to have my transmission rebuilt. It was only 1200.00 for a ford F150. They have done work on my other cars and they are great.
SUPER FABULOUS SERVICE!!!...My father was told by a random mechanic that he needed $850 worth of shocks and struts on his car. I recommended Aamco Transmissions (Valley View location) to my father because they have a great Better Business Bureau rating and also gave me a quote for half of the original price estimate. My father took his car in for service and when Scott, the owner, inspected it he found that it didn't need shocks OR struts, just and alignment! We are so grateful to have finally found an honest mechanic! Thank you so much, Scott, for your honest integrity! You definitely have our gratitude and future repair business!
