We've been going to Komol's for a while, and have thoroughly enjoyed their food. Tonight's experience, however, was quite different. Food was still tasty but, the Tom Kha Kai was served warm to cool, and so were the rest of the curries, which has never occurred before... so odd indeed! One expects the soup to come out of the kitchen steaming hot. The other matter that got us irked was the bill at the end of our meal. We were a party of five. Dinner totaled up to approx. $48.75 plus tax. Noticed an additional line of charges after for about $9.36 for SVC. Turns out they charge a fix 15% service charge for a party of five or more. This, was not noted any where in the menu, etc... The correct 15% would have been about $7.31, but Komol's takes the total with tax, add the 15 %, NOT total pre- tax plus 15%. As you can see with the calculation... the cashier did not even tabulate the percentages correctly.
So beware, large party diners for this SVC. I thought that it was quite sneaky how it was put there. We didn't mind paying the 15%, but Uncle Sam has no business getting a share of that!
My last criticism is of the server... the taller female server. Not so alert!! She made a few errors at our table tonight, and a previous night before. Note... she calculated our bill!
Service overall is friendly... this one in particular is a bit "confused".
We will still go there, but just four at a time!

We were there in summer of 2005. Komol Restaurant is one of the best Thai Food I have ever eaten. The food was so good that we wish we could live there. This year we're going to Las Vegas again and we could not wait to go back to Komol. It feels like we eat the original Thai food in Thailand. I would recommend this restaurant for everyone who loves Thai food.

Went there Friday evening based on other positive reviews. Certainly wouldn't recommend or eat there again. I have eaten Thai all over the US and there are so many better places (NY, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Philly, DC, Phoenix, etc).

I had the Veg Delight w/ tofu and my wife had the shrimp/chicken Thai fried rice...or at least that's what she ordered. In spite of the fact that she stated clearly several times that she wanted the shrimp/chicken version to the waitress, they must have confused my veg choice and made hers without the shrimp/chicken. My wife waited ten mins for the waitress to come back and ended up having to walk to the kitchen to flag someone down. They apologized and took her dish away. By the time they brought it back, I had pretty much polished off my dish. Then get this...they stated that they ran out of chicken so they put pork & shrimp in her dish assuming that she liked/wanted pork. She was hungry and finally gave up...just picking around the pork.

Even though my dish was correctly served, it was completely devoid of taste. I had to load it down with chili paste to give it some flavor that it desperately needed.

Do you want something to really top off this review? Soon after we sat down, my wife is sitting across the table from me. She looks to my right and says, "Is that a fly on the booth next to you?". Let's just say that what it was:
    - had large antennas
    - no wings
    - and probably had a thousand siblings running around the Komol.

It was all I could do to keep my composure and not get freaked out and in turn freak out my wife even more than she already was. I still have the creepy crawlies and it's been three hours since we left.

WOW...this is so made up...11 years I've been going there and my only complaint was when recently the air went out. Food was great. Still no problems. Run out of chicken, thats so cow poop. I order tom kha, panang, and chicken delight. They seem to have enough chickens to fill those plates....I just think you had a bad night.... Come again, bet I'll see you there.

Yeah, it does seem like you had a bad night (and the running out of chicken seems..odd..but I'll give you the benefit). The servers are all very friendly (but I do agree they can be kind of slow in checking up on you). I've been going there for 10+ years and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great Thai food.
