Great Early Childhood Education: My daughter has been going to SpringStone for almost 2 years now, and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff and directors. For those looking for a strict, by-the-book Montessori program, this is not it. BUT that is not necessarily a bad thing. The main aspects of Montessori are practiced and can be seen in each class. All classrooms are a good example of a "prepared environment" and the teachers provide the materials and lessons for sensorial experience, practical life exercises, and personal care exercises. There is some TV allowed, classrooms are grouped pretty much by age (I don't think there's more than a 1 year gap between any of the students in one room), and the three hour work period is more like 1 1/2-2 hr. But to me these aspects of Montessori are far less important than the teachers' and staff's kind and attentive care.
My daughter has been there 1 1/2 years: a large majority of the children have been there a long time, that speaks volumes. The cost is sort of high, however, you get what you pay for. School is clean, teachers friendly, not a high turn over in staff, they feed them good food and my little one is happy...and learning. The diversity of children is good, and I like that. My little one is VERY ahead of the game. I drive 20 miles one way, I am sure there are 200 schools between here and there...buy, this works for us!
