We visited on 8.19.08 and they must have gotten the hint about ppl thinking they have bad service because it was great--from the hostess to the server to the two bussers... all of them were extremely nice and incredibly helpful. I even spilled my water all over the table and the busser was super cool about it. And, they were very attentive to re-filling our waters and taking our empty plates.

We ordered a persephone pom and a key lime martini ($14 and $13 respectively, average for Vegas) and the pom was S-T-R-O-N-G but still delicious, and the key lime was weaker alcohol-wise, but very, VERY amazing. Not a good choice if you're trying to get wasted, but the best choice if you just want a unique, delicious martini. The crushed graham cracker rim was a great touch.

Then we had the siberian nachos, and don't let the wasabi scare you off--it's just mixed in with the sauce so you taste it, but the dish isn't spicy at all. You only get six chips, but they're covered with enough smoked salmon, roe, caviar and delicious sauces that you feel it was worth $18.

For the entrees we had the salmon dill dish (can't remember the exact name) and the crab/angelhair pasta (can't remember the name either). Both were excellent. I think they were both under $30, or right around there. Along with the appetizer and the great bread (they only give you 2pcs each, but it's enough) you don't need to spend the extra $10 on any sides. The portions were slightly bigger than we expected, but still small enough to just finish off.

Instead of dessert we split a black cherry lemon drop, which was just as potent as the persephone pom--so after 1 1/2 drinks I was FEELING IT which is not usually the case--so I imagine this would be a GREAT place to go just for drinks--you get your $$$ worth.

So all in all, for two people to have 3 drinks, an appetizer and two main courses, our bill came to $155 with tax and tip. This is the first place I've eaten in Vegas where I felt the money was worth it. The atmosphere is nice, secluded, and private, but very sophisticated. I didn't feel like anyone could hear our conversation, and I didn't get the mall-food-court feel I do at Trader Vic's or Burger Bar. All of the staff made the experience pleasant, and nobody acted snooty when we didn't order a bottle or a five-course meal. I feel like the food and drinks were worth exactly what we paid--a feeling that is hard to come by in this city.

This is definitely my new favorite.

    service is king - 09/19/08
Very helpful and great review. Noted the foods and drinks ordered, the prices, what you thought and what about the place you liked and maybe didn't like as much. Many say they like or dislike a place without going into a lot of detail but this review was informative.

I will agree with some of you that the drinks offered here are very good (even considering the 500+ percent markup on a bottle of vodka) However the food and service where awful in my opinion. From the moment that we were seated we our experience was nothing short of horrible. The waiter was very nice to start out with until we answered no to the question of having a $500 "Vodka Flight" (A sample of serval different vodka's) once we said no to the drink we were treated like second class citizens the entire rest of the evening. I ordered a steak and my wife ordered the chicken kiev which we soon discovered is pre made and cooked then heated up to order, the steak was ordered med-rare and came out well done. I then had to argue with the waiter over the difference between the med-rare and well done. I could not get a refill on my drink all night and none of our plates were cleared from the table well we were moving on to the next course. PLEASE spend just a little bit more and walk across the way to Aureole where the food is prepared properly and the service is excellent.
