This is more of an antique store than a gun store. Although the merchandise is interesting, it isn't worth risking the volatile temper of the owner. I too was ejected from the store for disagreeing with the owners political opinions - a discussion of which he instigated. As far as the guns go, his prices are about 30% higher than what you will pay from reputable internet antique gun dealers (which are the target of another of the owner's rants). Of two guns I was tempted by, the owner's temper saved me $1000 - the difference between his prices and similar guns found elsewhere. In short, go elsewhere. Prices are high. Quality uneven. And the owner needs to attend anger management classes.
i find this perplexing! i have been in this business once or twice a year for several years. i do not know the owner personally, but have done a small amount of business with him and his son over the years. they have always been personable, reasonably friendly and helpful. my teenage sons (at the time) loved this store! the array of merchandise, the answers to multiple questions, and even the laughter of what we considered a friendly shopkeeper. i'm sorry to hear of these "changes".
What a rotten crotchety old man!!! I too can join the ranks of individuals asked to leave the store for irrational charges. But in this case I think I may have the record. After striking up amicable conversation about my grandfather's collection of antique firearms that was auctioned after his death I was told, "that's enough," and "you need to leave." I was in the store a total of 2 minutes. On the way out I asked what offended him. His cranky response was in the form of a question. He asked, "Do YOU want to hear about MY grandfather's collection?" At this point I said absolutely not. He replied, "Well, I don't want to hear about YOUR grandfather's collection either."
Both my friend and I were stunned, and actually kind of laughing. The whole ordeal seemed unreal. Business must be doing quite well for him, for, if he had spent a little more time talking with me he would have realized that I am interested in the purchase of Winchester Model 1886's. I wouldn't buy a stamp from this man.
This also just occurred to me. That man is responsible for the sale of and is surrounded by firearms. His judgement seems to be so impaired I would question my own safety in that place.

I too had no problems on the many previous visits, until the last time the owner flipped out on me, and threw me out of the store. He's the one who started ranting against Fox News, in support of Harry Reid, and against inheritance (apparently from envy against local land owners). If he doesn't want to hear other opinions, why does he bring up the issues? As far as I'm concerned, the gun is a nut.
