User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI've lived in Texas and California...and Si Amigos is top notch. The service is second to none. The chips were fresh, they give you homemade refried beans and excellent salsa. That alone is worth the visit.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsim sorry but i disagree with Jim. Si Amigos is the best Mexican restaurant in town. I go there at least once a week and i cant complain is the best mexican food i have eaten.

I moved to Reno from SoCal in October and have been looking for a good Mexican Restaurant since. I have eaten at 7 that were rated highly on the Yahoo local list that were all average and below. Si Amigos was the first we would happily go back to. Good Service, cozy and clean inside. Good parking. The chips were good and they serve a good salsa and a very good bean dip with them. I ordered their Carne Asada and shrimp dinner which was outstanding. The dipping sauce for the shrimp was amazing. We also had the chicken enchilladas which were very good. My beer was served in an frosted glass with lime. We will try some others, but this is by far the best so far and we will be regulars.

I just ate here for a second time and I must withdraw my praise. this time I ordered the carnitas burrito. The meat was greasy and a mix of tender and tough. Flavor was barely passable. The worst part though were the chips. They tasted like they had been fried in old oil. We asked for new ones and the fresh batch tasted fine but why would they ever serve the first ones and not really make any comments about them. I liked this place but I feel this is close to being a health issue. Sorry Si Amigo I'm back on my search for a good AND CONSISTANT mexican restaurant.
