Their hot pastrami sandwich is also excellent! After they moved to Mound House, I have tried to find its equal in Carson City but to no avail... It's worth the drive out.
This pizza was awesome. I had a large (16 inch) pepperoni pizza, and it was the best pizza I have had since living in Pennsylvania. The pizza was cooked perfectly and topped perfectly. I plan to go here at least once per week. Unfortunately, they are closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. WTF?
I have followed this family recipe for many years as well (back in the 80's when "Nicks Pizza" first came to Carson City from California where at the time Clint Eastwood was serving this pizza at his then famous Hogs Breath Inn) and highly agree with the fact that this is the best pizza. In the universe. Ever. I do not look forward to the day that George and Maria decide to retire and move back to Greece. It's hard to fathom a world without this delicious pizza. To those of you who have never experienced walking in this joint to meet George and Maria and be treated to not only THE BEST PIZZA YOU WILL EVER EAT, they are great entertainers and the prices are actually too low for what you get. My personal fav is the "Roma" formerly known as the "Italian" which consists of linguisa, tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts, olives and fresh garlic all baked in the oven on top of a semi spicy sauce and a pizza dough that is thick yet crisp and a tiny (teency) bit sweet. The flavor blending is intoxicating. Their vegetarian pizza is devastating as is the "Greek" which uses feta cheese and fresh tomatoes for a true taste treat. If you aren't into anything too exotic and are more of a traditionalist just order a pepperoni, mushroom and olive. You will still be stunned at the pure perfection that is truly the "King" of pizza.
NOTE: I don't know where that web link above came from but it has nothing to do with the Pizza King located in Mound House Nv. Many miles from Indiana and certainly not a chain as represented on that link.

They close Sunday, Monday and Tuesday because they own their business and they can set their own hours which makes us proud to go there on Fridays. We'd rather come here then Pizza Factory and definatley won't go to the new Round Table.
