| About: | Suehiro Restaurant is one of those "natives-in-the-know" places. Visitors to L.A. have to be told about this nondescript eatery, but once you try it you will be an instant convert. If you like fresh and delicately seasoned tempura that is light and flaky and melts in your mouth, then you will understand why this place is so popular. Anything you order is sensational, but the tempura is in a class by itself. |

best place for Japanese food I've been to in LA, the Udon soup is great, the teriyaki chicken, ginger beef, all the dishes are worth the price..which is pretty much average there in little Tokyo. highly recomended...
I didn't know what to order, so I played it safe. Chicken Katsu w/ rice and a cup o' misu. The serving was the perfect size, just enough of everything to fill me up and leave room for desert.
I was expecting curry sauce with my katsu, instead I got tube of sauce that was pretty good. My order also included to my surprise, a glob of macaroni salad! Yum! I'd say this place is great for the value. For about ten bucks you can fill your stomach with above average Japanese food.
Don't expect anything mind blowing, just some J-Comfort food and friendly cute little old waitresses / cooks.
A Japanese diner in Little Tokyo...: This is a standard Japanese restaurant in the heart of Little Tokyo. The food was slightly above average. I wish I could give it three and one-half stars. The service was excellent. They don't have a sushi bar, but serve sushi. My girlfriend didn't care for the tuna roll, my cucumber roll was quite tasty, but then again, how can one mess-up a cucumber roll? The vegetable tempura was very good and they served beer. Will I go back? Probably.
