This is the worse place...the service is bad and the pastrami is greasy...the Johnny's pastrami in Culver City is a good place to eat...The one on ADAMS is the WORST...The workers are TERRIBLE and RUDE...NEVER AGAIN!!!
Are you people on "CRACK"???? you'd have to be to even want to stop on adams and Crenshaw-except for gas at the corner station BEFORE gettin on the 10 fwy !! this place is a turd hole- has been for nearly 20 yrs.Transients piss right behind the building, and the local gangmembers hang out in the adjacent lot and sell drugs-thats when local rival blk and hisp gangs don't drive by and shoot at them. first off- the quality of the sandwiches are suitable for people WHO know nothing of a real pastrami sandwich-its fatty low quality crap thats alternately fried or boiled( like everything else in the 'hood),the service is crappy-try explaining to the girl behind the BARRED window to wash her hands when handling your food,or to speak comprehendable "engleesssh"(thats if the FAT angry stereotypical blk woman isn't rolling her eyes at you and huffing when you foolishly ask for grilled onions, swiss cheese or a bread roll thats NOT stale on your sandwich( wus' dat? we ain't got dat'!)
Sorry folks- no matter who you are(Blk/wht/bro,or in between) or where your from-this JOHNNY'S is a "johnny's"in NAME only"- travel the extra 5 miles and go to the decent ,clean ,SAFE one in culver City- you'll taste the difference, and at least you can sit down in relative comfort instead of in your car or on the urine stained box by the trash can.....
Pros: Hands down the best tasting Pastrami sandwich in L.A. Unlimited ways to build your sandwich. Portions are large enough to share. Stays open late.
Cons: No seating. A little expesive for a sandwich.
Overall: A+

Apparently you are one of those sissy-boys who locks his doors if he drives to LAX because "it's on Century Boulevard, man!" I am white and live "in the hood" and have never had a minute of trouble. It could have a little to do with how you carry yourself. Keep your racial stereotyping in your own head-space because it doesn't belong in a food review. Besides, what do you know about smoking crack? A little first hand knowledge, perhaps?
