User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI was SO hyped to Try In-N-Out! I've heard nothing but "hype hype hype" for YEARS. I finally went on a vacation to the west coast and spotted an In-N-Out and made the taxi go out of his way to drive to it! Waited 15 minutes on the inside.... finally was handed my regular cheeseburger... got back into the taxi, rode to the hotel... sat down... stared at the incredibly greasy fast food bag... took out the burger and started shaking in anticipation!! This was it! My mouth was about to experience the holiest of all holy fast food joints.
I peeled off the paper wrapper, opened my mouth andddd... BITE.
Hm..hmmm. Hm. This is it?
I looked at the burger and the meat was RED! Yet the outside of it was charcoal colored and black! EW! The burger was virtually tasteless besides the special sauce... hello? Ketchup and mayo? Some lettuce, tomato and onion.
MAJORLY disappointed. I ate half, and the rest is currently in a dumpster somewhere in Las Vegas. What the hell is so good about In-N-Out?
People, you never had a burger until you've made your way to the east coast on a trip to Long Island, New York. ALL AMERICAN HAMBURGER- MASSAPEQUA, LONG ISLAND.
Blows this garbage right outta the ball park. Now THOSE people know how to make a TRUE "Double Double."-

Grilled Onions! RU blown away yet?
And you have to ask for UNsoggy fries???? Oh yeah, I'm impressed.
The closest to a fun burger is White Castle. No pretense. Order a burger and it comes with grilled onions. And the fries come unsoggy. You don't even have to ask!
But for the faithful In-N-Out, I think you are too Hung up on the sexual inuendo of the name. None above are real burgers. Just fun and memories. It has to taste of BEEF! Otherwise, you are having a salad with a pickle.
Try TGIF sometime. Order it medium rare. Now that's BEEF!Comments (4)

well you can't expect someone from New York to know much about a real American burger!!! People only travel from all across this beautiful country to get the ever so famous double double!!! get a clue pall!!!
