Phenomenal sushi. I haven't wanted to eat sushi anywhere else since eating here because the usual places just don't stand up.
Get the chef's special: Absolutely fresh and delicious. Every piece of sushi I had was perfectly prepared. The fish was at room temperature and melted in my mouth - not too cold and chewy.
Wonderful Sushi at Reasonable Prices: Echigo is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. In my opinion, it is about the same quality as Sasabune but half the price. If you get the Omakase (chef's choice) for dinner, it will run you around $30 - $35 at Echigo but $60 - $70 at Sasabune. Additionally, there is never a wait! The best part is going for lunch - you can get Omakase for lunch for $11. That is a deal. The fish is super fresh and the rice is warm, which is pretty unique to about 3 places that I know of in L.A.
