My consult, eye exam and overall experience with Dr. Heidi Fahringer was very pleasant. She's quite knowledgeable, very thorough, cooperative in answering questions, and I didn't feel at all pressured -- they were very complimentary of the frames I'd previously picked up elsewhere (although I did notice they had a surprisingly varied selection there). I went there on my lunch hour, at my assistant's suggestion -- he'd also had a great experience with Dr. Fahringer's group -- and her staff was so fun, courteous, helpful, and...I'll add... extremely cute (both before and after putting on my glasses), I left Dr. Heidi's place hoping I could find some reason to come back before my next scheduled exam!
The best eye doctor I've ever had. I have worn glasses or contacts for many years (decades actually) and through several moves around the country I've had to change eye doctors a few times. Of all the eye doctors I've seen, Dr. Heidi is the most attentive and thorough. I have always felt very well taken care of by the doctor -- she never rushes me, she goes to great lengths to answer all questions, and she makes sure my eyes are healthy. A "visit" to Dr. Heidi is not a boring doctor's appointment but a true visit with a caring professional. I would never trust my baby blues to anyone else.
Unprofessional, petty and a bit on the greedy side. I was allowed to sit and wait more than 30 minutes for my appointment (had I been 30 minutes late, on the other hand, I'm sure they would have turned me away). When I inquired as to when I would be seen, I got major "attitude" in reply. In fact, I was allowed to sit another 30 minutes and was never seen at all because I finally walked out. I "broke my neck" to get there on time, paid to park, and waited a total of an hour, but never received so much as an "I'm sorry," or any kind of apology or even so much as an acknowledgment of the long wait. No one ever took the time to say, "It'll be just a few more minutes," or anything. Actually, I felt as if I was allowed to wait the additional 30 minutes, precisely because I had the gaul to comment on the long wait in the first place! On a prior visit a couple of years ago, I got "attitude" from the optometrist directly because I did not want to buy my contact lenses from her at $80 per box, when I knew I could get them at Costco for half that, $40. I'm actually glad she and her staff were so rude today because it forced me to seek out another optometrist, with whom I'm very happy and who is professional, courteous, and understanding of my economic needs.

There was a misunderstanding on her appointment time. I, the doctor, did leave the exam room to apologize for the misunderstanding and the wait. I respect patient's time and do my best to run on time. Occasionally a patient needs more time than expected. As with most items, Costco has better prices than small business owners. I refer patients to Costco, if they are shopping for prices. Many like the convenience of their neighborhood optometrist and do not mind paying the price.
