Cafe Fiddlers

I love Fiddlers. I live across the street in the Park La Brea apartments and can actually walk over. I have had brunch, dinner and a late evening drink there and the food is fresh, abundant, well prepared and the service is warm and attentive. I highly recommend it.

This is one of my favorite breakfast places in L.A. It's not fancy...really more a motel coffee shop, but the food is really good and unique. There is a strong Grek influence to the menu and you get things you don't find anywhere else that I know of; lamb burgers with feta cheese, corned beef hash with a gorgonzola sauce, and daily specials that are always a surprise.

I have been going there for at least 15 years, and the staff has remained remarkably constant, which says something about how the management works there. The staff, by the way, is very attentive.

There is a patio area out back overlooking the motel pool. The pool is not used much, at least not in all the times I have been there, but the patio is shaded and is very nice on a weekend morning or afternoon. The place has always had a good crowd every time I have been there, but there is usually a table or two available, so seating is not a problem. If you go there often enough, the staff even remembers where you like to sit.

It's a very homey place with a varied, interesting, but reliable menu. I would not call it a great "date place", but it's a great place to go with a significant other.

Will visit again, if I happen to be in L.A.: The food was fresh, healthy, and very tasty.
Service was excellent, it felt like we were in Greece.
