I can't say enough about Furaibo. But I will say enough to justify my going there every other week.
Anyway, Furaibo has hands-down best chicken wings (teba saki) this side of the Mississippi. I have never tasted chicken wings east of the Mississippi, but I'm sure it's not as good as Furaibo's.
The environment is straight out of some Japanese restaurant in Tokyo. Evidence?
I took my Japanese friend here (and he lives in Japan) and he not only gave a thumbs up to the karrage chicken, but he also gave two thumbs up to the authenticity of the room.
When I first went to Furaibo, I was amazed at how well they replicated the authentic Japanese feel, and even more amazed at how the food was as delicious as the food I ate in Japan.
In other words, whether you live on the Westside or not, Furaibo is a must-stop restaurant. Forget Little Tokyo in downtown! Go to Sawtelle!
Great place for chicken wings and beer.: We love the food here but it's definitely not a romantic spot or anything. It's great for a group of friends. The teba saki chicken wings are amazing and they have pitcher Kirin on tap that they serve with ice cold glasses.
