When you turn the corner from Melrose Avenue at LaBrea, you cannot miss the line that has been extending from Pink's since it opened in 1939. Chili dogs, chili fries, chili burgers, turkey dogs, burrito dogsevery imaginable (and sometimes unimaginable) permutation of the wiener can be found here. No matter the time of day or night, you will find yourself standing in line with tourists, corporate climbers and celebrities. Cash only.
Okay, I have read many reviews ~ which go from "terrible" to "the best." My personal opinion PINK rocks! Yes the hot dogs are big and somewhat greasy, the seating is not the best (mostly outdoors) and the line is usually super looooooong. But if you are looking for a great hotdog, which traditionally is not a healthy/light dish ~ you will definitely be satisfied here. The variety is great and for those who fire eaters like me I would recommend âOzzy Spicy Dogâ suppppppeeeeeeer HOT, I always order them with a side of onion rings.
Yuk. Terrible chili. Mediocre hot dogs. Too long of a wait. Crappy seating. I would never go back. Well maybe if Angelina Jolie were naked in the line. then MAYBE.
first of all,.... you can't make a hot dog like pinks at home. the junky hot dogs they sell in the store are tasteless and without the appropriate 'snap' that a good hot dog has. remember, we are talking about hot dogs here. the place is legendary. a must go. the hot dogs are as good as they get and the service is unbelievable. order 10 different dogs from one person. they never write anything down prepare every item themselves, and remember every condiment you wanted. it rocks. no doubt about it. I get the bacon / mustard dog. some of their killer fries and nacho cheese sauce to dip the fries in. what can i say, ..... i'm a health nut. a must go.
