bad food. they charge for steamed rice and generally nickel and dime you on every aspect of the nasty experience.
One of the worst meals I have ever had: I ordered the honey walnut shrimp, which sounds delicious. I was given a plate full of boiled shrimp literally drenched in mayonnaise with a side of walnuts- definitely NOT what I expected. My roommate ordered the crispy chicken and received a plate full of fried chicken breasts drenched in way too salty brown sauce. The tea and the water even had a weird taste. We were already skeptical when we got there and saw the B health code rating. That and the empty dining room should have sent us packing, but we stayed and had a very dissatisfying meal. We asked the couple next to us on the way out how their meal was and they, too, said both of their entrees were below par. Even the fortune cookies were stale and lacking in flavor! If you are looking for a good local Chinese place with simple and easy-to-expect menu items, go somewhere else.
Great Chinese food: We love this place even though we've never been there. We only order delivery so we can't comment on ambiance and service. When we first moved to the area, we tried other Chinese delivery but nothing compares to Rice and have stopped trying others. Their pan fried dumplings served with a ginger-soy sauce are incredible--a bit unusual because they are dense--but, we frequently get two orders (6 or 8 per order) so we can have left overs. They have a tasty beef + scallop dish with vegetables that we highly recommend. Their orange flavored chicken is excellent. We've tried lots of other dishes and everything is very good.
