| About: | The Marix Tex Mex Cafe is not strictly a gay bar, mostly because it's mainly a good Mexican restaurant. The clientele is mostly men from the surrounding West Hollywood area here to check out the scene, get a drink and possibly an inexpensive meal. The wait for a table for dinner can be a long one. Many prefer to enjoy the comforts, and the crowd at the bar instead. The drinks are filled quickly by a hard-working, friendly staff. |

Cozy, comfortable, and elegant atmosphere. Great guacamole, tacos, and dessert (esp. the flan).
Of course this isn't authentic Tex-Mex, but it's pretty good considering. I try to head out there at least once a month.
Tex-Mex Comes to Cali: You can't throw a rock without hitting a decent Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, but good (or, for that matter, any) Tex-Mex is hard to come by. Enter Marix, home of the best "kick-a**" margaritas in town and the only place with legit chile con queso. The rest of the menu is also quite good, and word has gotten out: at least one former Friend frequents the joint. Come early evening for the best seats, and enjoy the convertible roof during nice weather.
