You are paying for the view. Overpriced food which was the same caliber as Denny's but with portions half the size. If you are a clueless college-aged brat whose dad like totally owns a dealership, this place is perfect for you.
Duke's is a wee bit different that the one in Waikiki but still a beast...order anything and wash it down with a Lava Flow. During Happy Hour everything is half off in the bar area.
Went on a Friday evening, which was my girlfriend's birthday. I thought that the weather would be poor, the parking would be bad, the wait long, the food, subjective. Boy, was I wrong on ALL counts! The weather was great, valet parking, we got seated 50 minutes before our reserved time. We were given a table with a sick (great) view overlooking the moonlit Pacific ocean and Catalina Island. I proposed to her that night...
I was one of a party of 4. We had ribs, shrimp scampi and steak, along with calamari, and minestrone soup. We each loved the food and the waitress service was terrific. The calamari stole the show. Several weeks later, my fiancee wanted to go back. She couldn't get the calamari out of her mind.
